The Basic How-To’s: Wear Time and Removal

When you’re ready for a new set, simply remove it with regular nail polish remover.
It’s only suitable for one-time use since the nail strips will start to dry out like nail polish. After the wraps are opened, they cannot guarantee the quality of the nail strips that are resealed after opening.
Another thing to keep in mind is that Color Street nail polish strips are made of the same ingredients used in traditional nail polish and are not considered water-permeable or "breathable."

So, how are the nail wraps removed? One is the use of nail polish remover and an alternative with coconut oil or lemon juice.
Using Nail Polish Remover
What you’ll need:
- Nail polish remover
- Cotton balls/pads
- Cuticle pusher
The steps:
- Take a cotton ball/pad and soak it in the nail polish remover.
- Place this on each of your nails (we do one hand at a time)
- Wait a little bit of time for the nail polish remover to work its magic (be patient, and the wrap will slide off smoothly, 3-5 minutes usually does the trick)
- Push down on the cotton pad from your cuticle towards the end of the nail, and the wrap should slide off in one smooth movement with no rubbing or damage to your nail. If they do stick, you can gently push the wrap off with a cuticle pusher (always push away from your nail bed so you don't risk damaging your nail if you slip)
Pro Tip: Nail polish remover can make your hands a little bit dry. It is recommended to moisturize your hands after the process to keep them looking pretty!
Using Coconut Oil or Lemon Juice and Warm Water
What you’ll need:
- Warm water and lemon juice or warm Coconut Oil
- A small bowl
- Cuticle pusher
The steps:
- Put a small amount of warm water and lemon juice or coconut oil in a bowl.
- Soak your nails for a few minutes in the liquid.
- When the bond between your nail and the wrap starts to break, use your cuticle pusher to edge the wrap up from the side of the nail (remember to direct the pusher away from your nail bed!)
- The wrap should edge off easily. If any residue is left on your nail, simply wipe this off with a tissue.
- Your hands will be lovely and soft, ready for your next wrap application!
Pro tip: If you find that there is still residue from the adhesives after the removal of the wraps, please do not fret! That is totally okay. Lily and Fox suggest using your favorite cuticle oil or Mineral Fusion to remove the excess. They are great and will not dry your nails.
